It has begun!

Well, after many months of talk and planning we are finally on the road. Right now i am just using the library computers at Shepparton to make this entry. Kristian is in the car with the kayak loaded on the trailer. Its all happening here. Next stop will be Wodonga in about 2 hours where we will camp the night before I hit the water in the morning.

Yesterday we headed out in the afternoon to take a look at Lake Mulwala and what were the options in regard to negotiating the weir. Fair to say that google earth just did not do the magnitude of the structure justice. Also, I discovered that fences surrounded the area where I was hoping to and carry the kayak around. Hmmm...Plan B anyone?? We have decided to beach the kayak about 150m upstream of the weir, unload into the car, carry the kayak the 500m to the boat ramp and then back into the paddling routine. Hopefully this will all happen next Sunday. Stay tuned!

My time is up here on the net so must go. I wish everyone a great couple of months in the lead up to Christmas and hope to see you all soon!
